Martina Franca is located inland on the south-eastern hills of the Murgia, between the provinces of Brindisi and Bari.
The town is very interesting for its baroque architectural beauties.
Visiting the city means being able to admire ancient baroque churches, including the eighteenth-century Basilica of San Martino, emblem of the baroque style of the city, the Church of San Domenico and the Church of Carmine, also very interesting.
Walking through the civil buildings we recommend visiting the Palazzo Ducale, dating back to the second half of 1700, which houses the Museum of the Forest of Pianelle, for the enhancement of the natural beauty of the area, and the Museum of Philip I d’Angiò, that welcomes many paintings inspired by the territory and tradition. Also the “Delfini palace “, the “Barnaba palace ” and the “Ancona palace”, among the most characteristic in the city.
In Martina Franca, you can also taste the typical cured meat, “capocollo” or the rich plate of fresh homemade pasta “orecchiette with tomato and cacioricotta grated”.
Spending a few days in Martina Franca is also and above all nature.
